UPDATE!: I confirmed in Louen's campaign that if I attacked the Dwarven major settlement in the mountains near Repanse's Copher starting position, that 1) it only let me Occupy or Raze, not sack and 2) after occupying it, it did not complete the Pledge to Campaign Vow on that lord who won the siege battle, I believe because the territory was "mountains" and not desert despite being mountains in the desert. You would have to have each lord occupy or raze a MAJOR settlement to complete the Questing Vow if that is what you chose for them. But would still suck to have 10 lords with that pledge to complete especially if they were leveled to the point you really want them to complete their Grail Vow. Of course once you achieve max chivalry, lords will be recruited with the Questing Vow already completed, so this only really applies to lords recruited before that point. This means you need to use this trick to get as many lords to complete this vow as you can before this point. I believe once you achieve max chivalry, the game stops letting you sack settlements, you can only Occupy or Raze.

^ Note though my warning about reaching 2000 chivalry (see my update below questioning this). So you could get many lords to complete their Questing Vow with that trick. However, the Treasure Hunts do not always spawn armies, and only 1 lord can complete the pledge at a time, so you could spend an annoying amount of time sailing 4 lords/armies around the ocean trying to find army-spawning sea treasures.įor the Questing Vow, if you instead choose "Win siege battle against a *MAJOR* settlement in Jungle or Desert Climate", if you read my Repanse guide you will learn a trick to that one, you can have your initiating lord sack the settlement, and then have your other lords click on the settlement but choose "Do Nothing", which will still complete the Pledge for that lord. And you can fight those battles with 1-3 armies reinforcing your attacking army, but only the attacking/lead army will complete the pledge. ^ IMPORTANT!: As Mikey pointed out in the comments and reminded me to emphasize, besides catching AI fleets out in the ocean or fighting those ocean-faring "Rogue" armies that sail about, the vampirate armies that spawn from the Treasure Hunt markers ("Sail to the Wreck", etc) also count to complete Pledge to Manaan. This really sucks, but I confirmed it by fighting a sea battle with an army and 2 reinforcing Lords who all had Pledge to Manaan ready, and only the initiating lord completed it.

I want these noted at the top because of how important they are to know.įor the Questing Vow, Pledge to Manaan will only be completed for the Lord who INITIATED the Battle (so Army #1 that your other armies/lords reinforce).
